Commercial HVAC Duct Mechanic
Requirements:
Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures at all times
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and accept direction from supervisors and senior mechanics
Participate in ongoing training to enhance technical HVAC knowledge and job-related skills
Properly operate and apply power tools relevant to HVAC duct installation
Independently install the following without supervision:
Flex duct and collars
Air diffusers
Duct insulation
Install the following under supervision:
Sheet metal, fiberglass, and spiral ductwork (single and double wall), including miters and offsets
Custom duct fittings based on field measurements
Accurately field-measure and verify dimensions for duct fittings and system layout
Understand and apply SMACNA Duct Construction Standards during fabrication and installation
Interpret and follow HVAC construction drawings and blueprints with minimal guidance
Duct Foreman
Responsibilities:
Work under the supervision of a Foreman
Perform timely, quality HVAC system installations
Follow company safety policies, including PPE use and HAZCOM compliance
Maintain a clean, professional work area and appearance
Be open to learning and taking direction
Attend training to improve HVAC knowledge and skills
Properly operate power tools (cordless drill, 3/8” drill, Sawzall, double cuts)
Independently install ductwork and dampers
Assist with the installation of fans, VAVs, RTUs, air handlers, and condensers
Support training and development of Junior Mechanics and Helpers
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, submittals, and shop drawings
HVAC Technician
Responsibilities:
Braze and solder piping connections
Install, service, and repair air ducts, indoor/outdoor units, drain pans, and drain lines
Install and calibrate thermostats, humidistats, solenoids, and timers
Diagnose issues with non-operational HVAC systems
Repair or replace faulty parts in indoor and outdoor units
Perform preventive maintenance, including drain cleaning, coil sanitizing, and motor lubrication
Conduct post-repair system evaluations using gauges, voltmeters, leak detectors, and airflow instruments
Commercial Service Technician
Responsibilities:
Maintain a professional image and follow all safety and company policies
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
Read wiring diagrams and work with single/three-phase systems, VFDs, and motor controls
Diagnose and service refrigerant, water, and gas piping systems
Handle water-source equipment like chillers, cooling towers, and fluid coolers
Install and program DDC controls (e.g., Carrier, Trane)
Work with VAV/VVT boxes and various thermostats
Conduct leak detection, compressor repair, and system diagnostics
Understand airflow, CFM calculations, and test and balance procedures
Carry and maintain tools required for commercial HVAC service
BIM/CAD Designer Mechanical
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed models and layouts of HVAC systems (ductwork and piping) using Autodesk products.
- Provide BIM/CAD training and support to Project Managers.
- Stay current with BIM industry trends, software updates, and new technologies.
- Integrate sprinkler, plumbing, electrical, and other trade models into coordinated BIM models.
- Perform clash detection of both internal and external models.
- Communicate with General Contractors, including generating and responding to RFIs.
- Attend virtual coordination meetings as required.
HVAC Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- Oversee field personnel and subcontractors to ensure productivity and accountability.
- Ensure high-quality and cost-effective installation of HVAC systems.
- Set up and manage project schedules.
- Prepare submittals and shop drawings in accordance with project requirements.
- Create material lists for shop fabrication and order necessary materials for HVAC system installation.
- Handle purchasing of bought-out items with assistance from the Vice President.
- Complete purchase orders and subcontracts; organize in the pending submittal book until approved.
- Brief the foreman on project scope and updates; maintain daily communication on job progress and field needs.
- Provide weekly updates on the performance of field personnel.
- Conduct weekly job site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance.
- Supervise implementation of Safety and HAZCOM programs, and oversee quality control measures.
- Attend project meetings as required by the general contractor or internal leadership.
- Maintain updated plan files and fabrication cut lists.
- Manage correspondence with the general contractor, including pricing and documentation for required change orders.
- Oversee job close-out process, including:
- Operation and maintenance manuals.
- As-built drawings.
- Test and balance reports.
Duct Installers/Rough In/Trim
Responsibilities:
- Perform residential duct rough-ins for new home construction.
- Complete HVAC trim-out installations, including vents, registers, and grilles.
- Start up HVAC units at the time of installation to ensure proper operation.
- Install various HVAC systems including heat pumps, furnaces, mini-splits, packaged units, and RTUs.
- Modify ductwork and troubleshoot system issues as needed.
- Interpret and follow HVAC installation drawings and specifications.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure timely project completion.
HVAC General Superintendent
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all field operations and manage multiple HVAC projects simultaneously.
- Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain project schedules.
- Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Lead and enforce OSHA and company safety programs on all job sites.
- Review and interpret HVAC drawings, specifications, and change orders.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Plan and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, for optimal field productivity.
- Facilitate coordination between multiple trades to prevent conflicts and delays.
- Conduct weekly safety and progress meetings with field staff and subcontractors.
- Monitor labor productivity and prepare detailed reports on manpower and project status.
- Identify potential change orders and communicate them promptly to project management.
- Manage job closeout activities, including punch lists, inspections, and documentation.
- Maintain strong customer relationships and address client concerns professionally.
- Ensure all site personnel comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
HVAC Superintendent
Responsibilities:
- Assume full responsibility for ensuring high-quality installation and successful project completion.
- Identify, document, and communicate potential change orders promptly.
- Serve as the primary liaison with customers, maintaining strong and professional relationships.
- Lead and conduct regular jobsite safety meetings to uphold safety standards.
- Participate in project cost reviews and job performance evaluations.
- Manage and coordinate workforce schedules to align with project milestones.
- Read and interpret HVAC blueprints and technical drawings to guide field crews.
- Organize and oversee all on-site operations, ensuring alignment with project plans.
- Perform material take-offs and ensure timely ordering of materials, tools, and equipment to support field efficiency.
- Facilitate coordination between multiple trades and monitor subcontractor progress to maintain workflow.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company-specific work rules for all jobsite personnel.
- Schedule equipment and material deliveries as well as inspections to avoid delays.
- Monitor labor productivity and maintain accurate records, including time sheets and short-term scheduling (two-week look ahead).
- Ensure timely project delivery within budget constraints through proactive planning and leadership.
Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Responsibilities:
- Receive materials and process accompanying paperwork.
- Ensure purchase order boards are kept up to date.
- Coordinate deliveries according to departmental needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse.
- Enforce company safety policies.
- Perform maintenance on shop vehicles.
- Assist the shop supervisor as needed.
- Coordinate and maintain company tools and tool records.
- Assist other departments as needed based on workload.
Accounting Inventory Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between Management, the Purchasing Department, and multiple job sites, collaborating daily with the team.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of inventory product needs, levels, and control systems.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, adhering to company requirements and deadlines.
- Lead the implementation of the Inventory System.
- Aid in designing reports, forms, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, workflows, and user authorizations.
- Work closely with the facilities operations projects team to track project deadlines and milestones, communicating key updates to leadership.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure they remain within acceptable ranges.
- Facilitate internal control initiatives while complying with company policies.
- Collaborate with various departments including Purchasing, Manufacturing, Warehouses, and Accounting.
- Support the team by coordinating inventory needs across multiple locations.
RNC Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Receive new start requests from builders via email and/or builder portals.
- Compare builder purchase orders (POs) and start requests with bids to ensure pricing accuracy.
- Review builder POs to identify added options and generate address-specific jobs using base pricing and approved add-ons.
- Coordinate with estimating to ensure all added options are properly priced.
- Receive stage schedules from builders through email, phone calls, or portals.
- Input scheduling requests into the scheduling software accurately and promptly.
- Confirm that all start packages are complete and ready for the upcoming schedule.
- Update the schedule as needed based on input from builders and Armstrong field superintendents.
Accounts Receivable/Collection Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Initiate Notice to Owner (NTO) and lien documents; maintain lien/bond rights, execute lien waivers, and file claims as needed.
- Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and initiate collection efforts.
- Identify delinquent accounts, review files, and contact customers to request payment.
- Escalate unresolved issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer collection notes in the system.
- Research and resolve customer discrepancies and past-due balances in coordination with Finance and Department Managers.
- Reconcile accounts receivable daily and weekly.
- Support the Accounting team with monthly AR account reconciliation.
- Copy, file, and retrieve documents related to accounts receivable as required.
- Communicate updates and changes to relevant team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate initiative and professionalism in team collaboration.
- Maintain a positive attitude and work effectively with others.
